![]() and it's pretty quick to switch between TouchOSC and Omni TR when I need to. which I use quite often and have a lot of fun with. There is an app for the iPad and Omnisphere btw. ![]() Kinda like a preset system of sorts whereas the TouchOSC system with it's templates, can literally be and control anything in whatever way you wish so it's much more flexible. Both those two are 'prettier' to look at. You can design your own interfaces for different items like 3rd party pug ins for example so you are not just limited to using it as a remote mixer for Logic such as AC-7 or V-Contro, are. The thing with TouchOSC is that you can use it for all kinds of controllers and not just a dedicated control surface for Logic. and maybe others will jump in with their thoughts too but. Just a quick response as i am working all night in the studio. Word on the street (hyperinterwebbynet) says that Touch OSC is better than AC-7 Core but how about VControl? How important is the iPad speed (iPad1 vs iPad2) when it comes to a Logic controller? Surely the processing of communications is not intensive. In a way it might seem expensive to buy an iPad just to use an App to offer additional/alternative control options for Logic. Any point using that? Somehow I'd rather not rely on internet connectivity. I do have a first generation Airport Extreme with a USB port. So, does that mean I can leave it connected via the 'camera connection kit' and not have to set it up for every session in Logic? The Novation will work best when it's used to action loops/soundz and be a software instrument player in Record mode (in my case). My hope is that there may be some control of Omnisphere because there ain't much via Automap unless I do lots of assigning <- Something I haven't got into yet. My expectation is to extend that further to the iPad via TouchOSC (or similar). Sometimes I'll use the Novation's controls and sometimes the Mac's keyboard or TrackPad and cursor to do the same action. Automap is great so far for some plug-ins but not for others - Having the same row of buttons toggle between Transport and Track Solos is not clever when you want to select a solo and then play/loop. ![]() Sometimes it's easier/preferable to use a Menu > File > actionA than a triple key qwerty shortcut. The second is that maybe something is wrong with my layout preventing it from displaying.I haven't been too sure about whether TouchOSC would make Novation Automap via the SL hardware encoders etc redundant, but I think it's equivalent to how we use the Mac keyboard inasmuch that we can use both/either to action the same result but find that one method is favoured for one particular action but not another action. The wireless syncing maybe is due to me just not understanding the settings well enough. I just go back to whatever layout it was already on. I noticed all of the builtin ones had a different extension. But it did not show up as an option in TouchOSC for iPad. I copied the layout over (mylayout.tosc). The instructions were for iTunes, but since I am on Big Sur, I had to use Finder. I gave up on wireless sync, then used the USB. The instructions on the site indicate there should be a sync button in the toolbar, but the graphics were all from an older version. I created a layout in TouchOSC for macOS, and was able to connect it up to the software I'm using (vuo) and everything worked fine.
